LFA TALKS

The programme consists of a series of conversations, lectures, and public gatherings exploring photography, architecture, the city, and the territory. Drawing on the legacy of Luis Ferreira Alves and the questions shaping contemporary practice, the programme brings together photographers, architects, and other guests, creating a space for exchange between different experiences and ways of seeing.
Each gathering takes as its starting point the backgrounds, works, and questions brought by the guests. Discussions may explore the relationship between photographer and architect, ways of interpreting and representing space, the construction of visual narratives, or the role of photography in the memory and transformation of territories. Each session is carefully prepared to encourage depth of discussion while preserving the spontaneity and intimacy of the encounter.
This session was moderated by Jorge Sobrado, Councillor for Culture and Heritage at Porto City Council, and brought together Hugh Campbell, Cristina Gastón, Judit Taberna Torres, and Gabriel Hernández, whose diverse academic, editorial, and critical backgrounds allowed for a particularly rich exchange of perspectives on photography, architecture, and publishing. From the outset, the intention was not to organise a series of individual presentations, but rather to foster a genuine roundtable conversation.
